Yorkshire Wedding at Oakwell Hall

Oakwell Hall is a beautiful and character-filled wedding venue in Yorkshire, set within a stunning Grade I-listed Elizabethan manor surrounded by rolling countryside. With its historic Great Hall, barn, and picturesque gardens, it offers a perfect setting for weddings and just as importantly the couples shoot. The surrounding gardens provide opportunities for outdoor Summer celebrations in particular.

Outdoor Games

The outdoor games you’ll see throughout Gio & Corry’s wedding gallery below were one of the highlights of the day for me. I always recommend adding extras throughout the day to my couples — games, magicians or anything in between. Not only do they bring an extra layer of fun for you and your guests, but they also give the final wedding gallery a real sense of action and personality.

These kinds of additions naturally encourage guests to relax, laugh and mingle, which creates far more candid, story-driven photographs. Instead of people waiting around during quieter moments, there’s energy and excitement happening and that atmosphere translates beautifully into the images.

The Evening Do

Gio & Corry really pushed the boat out with this one — forgive me for not remembering the name of their chosen DJ, but I was told he’s pretty well known within the house music scene, and it certainly showed. The energy in the room was perfect and their guests well and truly rose to the occasion.

Not only did everyone get involved on the dance floor, they gave a full 100% from start to finish. There were props, wild dance moves, and of course the iconic tie-on-the-forehead moments making several appearances as the night went on. The atmosphere felt more like a packed club than a wedding reception, and it made for some incredible moments and unforgettable photos. All evening do’s should be like theirs, encourage your guests to let loose, get involved, and truly get on down.
