Countryside Wedding In Clitheroe

When Emily & Chris first got in touch I really wanted to get involved in their wedding plans. They sounded right up my street with having a super relaxed plan for their big day and wanting to work along side me to create some great stuff, pretty much 100% candid I believe was the request! Their Summer wedding went ahead as planned with the majority, including ceremony, taking place outside. Maybe the bridal party burying a sausage actually worked.

Straight after their ceremony they jumped into full chill out mode with outdoor games, live music from one of their close friends and even later on, a game of cricket (They’re both big fans and couldn’t do their day without a few runs). Sports is not something I see much of during a wedding day, volleyball or football is pretty common - But I’m up for more of this every time! You’ll see when scrolling through their wedding gallery below that these kind of ‘extras’ scattered throughout a wedding day offer so many opportunities for unobtrusive, candid photographs. In all honesty, grouping everyone together for activities makes it more fun for guests and me equally.

Bowland Tipis Wedding Venue

Bowland Tipis in Lancashire is one of those venues that immediately gives you a sense of calm, countryside charm. Set in the heart of the Bowland countryside, the tipis themselves create an incredible setting. Open, airy, and full of natural light, while still feeling intimate and personal. Whether it’s the ceremony under the main tipi, guests mingling outside, or the open space for games and activities, the venue blends effortlessly into a relaxed, fun-filled day.

The tipis open structure means I can move freely, catch those small details from people interacting, and work with the light however it shifts throughout the day. It also encourages guests to wander naturally between spaces — the ceremony, the chill-out area, and the dining area — which makes capturing the day feel effortless. Bowland Tipis manages to balance elegance with ease, giving couples a beautiful backdrop without ever feeling too formal.
